Pressure switches are used to switch on and off the water pump that supplies your water.

PRESSURE SWITCHES

Pressure switches are used with a 20 psi difference between the on and off settings. When plumbing a water well pressure tank for use with a pressure switch, the air in the top of the water well pressure tank should be 2 psi below the cut in pressure for the pressure switch, prior to pumping water into the tank.

Furnas no longer makes the #69L1986 Double Pole Float Switch. We have replaced this item with the Square D Open Tank Float Switch, which performs like a mechanically activated pressure switch. However, Square D's Float Switch is not reversible like the old Furnas switch. These are rated up to 2 HP at 115 Volt, and 3 HP at 230 Volt.
